Randy
Mundt Background
Randy Mundt’s interest in funeral service
became apparent in high school. While in high school, Randy
and his uncle, retired attorney and law professor, attended
a number of funeral services and wakes within the Milwaukee,
Wisconsin area. Even at that time, Randy viewed funeral service
as a celebration of life and enjoyed the social aspects surrounding
this industry. Also during high school, Randy’s beloved
uncle passed away. Feeling the need to help, Randy assisted–along
with his mother–in his uncle’s funeral arrangements.
At an early age, Randy was exposed to the details involved
in coordinating a funeral service and his uncle’s funeral
arrangements were pivotal in Randy’s ultimate decision
to choose funeral service as his career.
After college graduation in 1972, Randy began an internship
within the funeral industry at Feerick Funeral Home in Shorewood.
There, Randy began his career by giving tours of the facility
and, eventually, conducting family pre-arrangements. In 1973,
Randy became a licensed funeral director.
In 1985, Randy and Jean Mundt moved to Eau Claire and Randy
began managing Stokes Funeral Chapel. In September of 1987,
Randy purchased Stokes Funeral Chapel and changed its name
to Stokes and Mundt Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
In
2007, Randy and Jean Mundt purchased both Prock Funeral Home,
Ltd. and the Cremation Society of Wisconsin. This merger changed
Stokes and Mundt Funeral Chapel and Crematory’s name
to Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel and Crematory
and the Cremation Society of Wisconsin.
